DevaCurl: Does It Work For Kinky Curly Hair?

I am officially a DevaCurl Influencer! But, let me be very clear. Although I did not pay for these products because they were sent to me by DevaCurl, I will only state my honest opinion. Nothing more; nothing less. If you all are unaware, my hair type is roughly 3c/4a, and I have used DevaCurl’s SuperCream and Ultra Defining Gel way before I was sent all of these gems.

The day I received my products I decided to try them immediately. Honestly, they did not disappoint me. It was time for me to wash and deep condition my hair anyway, so I washed my hair with No-Poo Decadence and deep conditioned with Melt Into Moisture. I absolutely love how smooth No-Poo Decadance glided onto my hair. After massaging the product on my scalp and throughout my hair, I was able to effortlessly detangle my tresses. Ya girl was amazed!

Usually, my wash routine consists of me detangling my hair with conditioner before washing my hair, rinse the conditioner out to shampoo, then condition again to add moisture back into my curls, and rinse the condition out again. Not only was that a mouth full, it’s completely time consuming. Needless to say, No-Poo Decadence has  changed my wash routine by 100%.

After rinsing out No-Poo, I followed up with Melt Into Moisture to deep condition, and the consistency of the product is not nearly as thick as most. The product easily coated every strand of hair on my scalp. When deep conditioning, my personal preference is to leave the product in  overnight. Honestly, I think deep conditioning kinky curly hair should always be an overnight process because leaving it in for 10-15 minutes is a regular conditioning system.

I strongly encourage all kinky curly women to deep condition their hair at least once a week. Kinky curly hair can become extremely dry, and sometimes oils and creams are not enough to add the necessary moisture our hair needs.

For styling my hair, I used Super Stretch. This product is a game changer for the DevaCurl brand pertaining to super curly tresses. I’m a fan because I don’t need a lot of product to coat my hair. It keeps my curls defined without weighing them down and reduces my air-drying time in half. Most importantly, Super Stretch is moisturizing and can be used as what I like to call a “one and done” product. Meaning, I don’t have to use a gel with this product for my wash and go to last a few days. The only product I may add is an oil for shine, but that is it.

If you all have had the opportunity to try any of these products, let me know what you think. I’m interested to learn how some of you use DevaCurl products.
